Applications for heating, cooling and natural gas
Natural Gas Pipe Size
A natural gas installation branch with a burner of 500 kW of heat output at the end. Or two such burners. Need to decide on the pipe diameter? Enter the required heat output and the pipe branch length and the answer is there: a minimum recommended pipe diameter. Choose the first larger standard diameter and get the flow rate, velocity and pressure drop immediately. Specify pipe fittings and the resulting pressure drop will be calculated.
Have more branches? Sketch a basic layout. Calculate branch pipe diameters and respective pressure drops, and write them down. When finished, sum pressure drops of individual branches in series. The sum should be lower than 10 % of available natural gas pressure.
